I love old fashioned hot dogs and great onion rings. Papa Bills did not disappoint. Those hot dogs were the BOMB and those onion rings (I wanted another order -that good). They have a really good BBQ sandwich, too!! If you have not been, give them a try.
The fried chicken here never disappoints. Every time I visit Pembroke I always stop by Papa Bill's for a good plate of fried chicken with potato salad, coleslaw and hush puppies.
Really popular with the local community especially for BBQ (traditionally covered in Texas Pete hot sauce) either on its own or as a sandwich but for that it's best with cole slaw...) My son had fried chicken which he also liked; I had ribs which I thoroughly did NOT enjoy (and was told not to get either but I'm stubborn like that) but at least it was an order of BBQ and ribs. Sides are all good but especially hush puppies. The hours may seem odd being closed Sun, Mon and Tue and having reduced hours Wed but that's just how it is. Bunch of local places you have to know when to go for food. Drive thru is really popular option with two drive thrus. You can also walk up and order and can sit outside on picnic tables and there is another air conditioned building you can use as well.
The food was great and the service was outstanding. I brought a plate home for the wife and she loved the ribs.
Great drive through service - wait is not too long, orders handled quickly and accurately. Great popped pork and BBQ chicken - hush puppies are delicious - baked beans excellent - Cole slaw perfect. No space to eat in just order and go - great atmosphere, clean, well maintained.
